  • 4 cups - Rice flour
  • 1 cup - Urad Dal flour (fry the Urad Dal directly in a pan till it gets a nice brown color and then powder it finely)
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1/4 tsp - asafetida powder
  • 2 tbsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp - sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup - Coconut Milk (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Easy Thenkuzhal

  • Mix together the rice flour and the urad dal flour without adding water.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients to the flour and make dough by adding enough water.
  • Make a ball from the dough and put it in the thenkuzhal press (with the three holed plate in the press).
  • Squeeze the dough into the boiling oil through the press.
  • Fry it in the oil till it turns crispy.
  • Drain and store in an airtight container.
