Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Whole-wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup - All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup - Vanilla flavored custard powder
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1 cup - Milk
  • 1/4 cup - Butter
  • 2 tsp - Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Baking soda
  • 1/4 cup - Oil

How to Make Eggless Yellow Sponge Cake

  • Sift together the whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder and keep aside.
  • Heat milk, butter and sugar together until the sugar melts, then turn off the stove.
  • Add the oil and mix.
  • Slowly add custard powder to the wet ingredients and mix well without forming any lumps.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently stir with a spatula, don't overmix.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees .
  • Grease either a loaf pan or mini loaf pan.
  • Pour the prepared cake batter on to the greased mould and bake for 20-25 minutes until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
  • Serve with a cup of tea or coffee.
