Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup - powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 cups - flour
  • 1.5 tsp - ground Cardamom
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup - sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup - buttermilk
  • A pinch of icing Sugar for dusting

How to Make Elaichi cake

  • Beat the unsalted butter with the powdered sugar and 1/4 tsp - salt.
  • Add the egg and beat well.
  • Sift 2 cups flour together with ground cardamom and baking soda.
  • Add the flour to the butter mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  • Add enough buttermilk (about half cup) to make a soft dropping consistency.
  • Bake in two greased and floured 6-inch ring moulds for about 20-25 mins at 180 deg C.
  • Turn out onto a wire rack.
  • Serve with a dusting of icing sugar.
