1 cup - rice flour
1 tsp - oil
1 pinch - salt
3/4 cup - sesame seeds
2 tbsps - grated dry coconut
3/4 cup - jaggery
How to Make Ellu kozhukattai
Dry roast sesame seeds, cool and grind with the coconut and jaggery into a slightly coarse powder.
Make plum-sized balls out of the mix, and keep aside.
Mix rice flour, salt and oil in a bowl and make a soft dough adding water little by little.
Take a small lemon size ball from the dough, flatten it on your palm and place a jaggery ball in the middle and cover the edges.
Boil 1/2 litre of water, adding 1/2 tsp of sesame oil to it.
Gently drop each ball into the boiling water.
Boil for 5 minutes and cook for another 5 minutes till the cooked kozhukattais start floating up.
Remove the kozhukattais gently using a perforated ladle and drain them.
