Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Coconut grated
  • 1 tsp - venthayam
  • 3-4 - Red Chillies
  • 1 cup - vegetables (sweet melon, carrot, melon)
  • Tamarind water
  • For seasoning:
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 - Red Chilli
  • Salt to taste.
  • How to Make Embran Kootaan:

    1. Fry red chilli and venthayam in oil.
    2. Grind them with coconut.
    3. Add sweet melon or melon in tamarind water or cook the vegetables first and add them in tamarind water to boil. Sprinkle salt to taste.
    4. When tamarind aroma disappears, add the ground paste.
    5. Season with mustard, red chillies and coriander leaves or curry leaves. Serve with steamed rice.
