How to Make

  • Pressure-cook the yams and raw bananas in salt water.
  • Make a solution of tamarind water.
  • Drain off the excess water from the pressure-cooked vegetables and add them to the tamarind solution.
  • Grind the pepper, rice powder and coconut with a little salt and keep the paste aside.
  • When the vegetables start boiling, add the paste.
  • When it has boiled for 20 minutes, turn off the flame.
  • For garnishing, heat a little coconut oil. Add the mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds splutter, add urad dal and the curry leaves.
  • Add the garnish to the mixture.
  • Serve hot with rice.
