Ingredients

  • 2 cups - flour
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1/3 cup - shortening
  • 3/4 cup - Milk
  • 1 - Egg
  • 2 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 3/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Everyday Cup Cakes

  • Soften shortening. Sieve flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add half the mixture and the slightly beaten egg.
  • Mix until the flour is dampened.
  • Using a mixie, beat at low speed for 2 mins.
  • Add remaining milk and vanilla essence. Beat for a minute longer.
  • Spoon into paper bake cups and place on muffin pan.
  • Bake in moderate oven at 190 degree C or until done.
