Ingredients

  • 180 g - self-rising flour
  • 200 g - Sugar
  • 150 g - Butter
  • 2 - eggs
  • 3 tbsp - cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp - instant coffee powder
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp - Vinegar
  • 100 ml - hot water
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - soda
  • 1/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Featherlight Chocolate Cake

  • Dissolve coffee powder in boiling water and add cocoa powder and mix well.
  • Sieve the self-rising flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Lightly beat the eggs.
  • Add a little beaten egg to the creamed mixture and beat well after each addition until all the eggs are done.
  • Add vinegar and vanilla essence and cream well.
  • Add the flour alternately with the coffee-cocoa mixture. Stir well with a spatula.
  • Bake at 150 degree C for 45-60 mins.
  • Cool completely and ice with chocolate fudge icing.
