  • 200 g - fresh Figs
  • 50 g - Brown sugar
  • 150 g - fresh soft Paneer
  • 300 g - fresh khoya or mava
  • 225 g - Sugar powdered
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • For Topping:
  • Slivered Almonds
  • Pistachios
  • Edible silver foil (optional)
  • How to Make Figs-n-Mava Burfi:

    1. Chop figs, sprinkle with brown sugar and heat in a heavy pan
    2. Cook till all moisture evaporates and keep mixture aside
    3. Crumble or grate mava and paneer into a non-stick pan
    4. Heat, stirring continuously, on a low flame, till a very soft lump is formed
    5. Allow mixture to cool to just above room temperature
    6. Sprinkle sugar and cardamom and mix well with hands
    7. Drizzle ghee and knead mixture to a smooth dough
    8. Roll on a greased waxpaper to a thin rectangle
    9. Spread fig mixture over half of the rectangle
    10. Carefully fold other half over mixture with the help of the waxpaper
    11. Smoothen if required with a rolling pin
    12. Peel paper off very carefully from top
    13. Apply silver foil and smoothen with paper
    14. Sprinkle slivered nuts and press in gently
    15. Mark and cut pieces in to desired shapes and size
    16. Cool and serve
