  • 500 g - silver carp (or any white-fleshed fish)
  • 3 - medium-sized raw banana, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 - large onion, ground into a paste
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger paste
  • 2 - dry Red Chillies
  • 1 - Bay Leaf
  • 1 tbsp - Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt, as required
  • Oil, as required
  • Water, as required
  • How to Make Fish curry with raw banana:

    1. Wash the fish and cut into 2 inch pieces. Marinate with a pinch of turmeric and salt for 5 to 7 minutes.
    2. In a pan, heat oil and gently fry the fish pieces.
    3. Remove the fish pieces and in the same pan, add the bay leaf, dry chillies and the garlic paste.
    4. Fry for a few seconds and then add onion paste, turmeric powder and tomato ketchup.
    5. Fry for another minute and then add a cup of water to the pan along with the raw banana and cook covered until all the flavours blend in.
    6. Add salt and water to the desired consistency, and lastly the fish pieces and cook covered until the fish is fully cooked.
    7. Serve hot with rice.
