Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - thinly cut fish slices (bone less)
  • 2 tbsp - lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp - freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup - spring onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup - mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, minced
  • 1 tsp - ginger, mince
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • salt to taste
  • For Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - onions, minced
  • 1 tbsp - garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp - kashmiri chilli powder1 tbsp - vinegar
  • 2 tbsp - tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - MSG, optional
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • 2 tsp - corn flour
  • salt to taste

How to Make Fish in Chilli Garlic Sauce

  • Wash the fish and pat dry. Sprinkle with lime juice and pepper and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Combine rest of the ingredients together. Spread 1/2 of them in a shallow glass dish.
  • Place the fish slices over them. Sprinkle remaining mixture on top.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4-5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile prepare the sauce on the gas burner.
  • For Sauce:
  • Mix chili powder with vinegar.
  • Heat oil in a fry pan. Fry garlic till brown. Add onions fry till brown.
  • Add the chili paste and fry for 1/2 minute. Add salt and tomato ketchup.
  • Mix corn flour with water and add to the pan. Add salt, sugar and MSG (optional)
  • Cook stirring till the sauce thickens.
  • When the fish is cooked pour the hot sauce over it.
  • Cook on full power covered for 2 more minutes. Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
