Ingredients

  • 1 kg - fish fillet
  • 1 - carrot
  • 1 - green pepper
  • 2 - sticks celery
  • 3 - tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp - peanut oil
  • 4 tbsp - vinegar
  • 4 tbsp - sugar
  • 1 tsp - fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp - corn flour (optional)

How to Make Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • Skin the fish and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Cut the carrot and pepper into match stick strips.
  • Cut the celery diagonally.
  • Drop the vegetables into boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain.
  • Skin the tomatoes, remove seeds and chop roughly.
  • Heat oil in a small pan and fry the fish until cooked for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the fish and drain.
  • Pour off excess oil, add vinegar, sugar, ginger, salt, corn flour, all the vegetables and 3/4 cup water.
  • Bring to the boil, stirring.
  • Add the fish and simmer for 2 minutes
  • Serve hot.
