1 lb - cat fish (cleaned and cut into pieces)
1 bunch - green onions - 1 bunch (finely chopped)
2 - onions - (finely chopped)
2 - green chillies (finely chopped)
3 tsp - ginger garlic paste
3 sticks - cinnamon
3 - cloves
4 tsp - khus - khus
1/2 cup - coconut (fresh )
1/2 cup - coconut milk
3 tsp - chilli powder
2 tsp - turmeric
6 tsp - oil
1/2 bunch - cilantro - 1(finely chopped)
How to Make Fish Masala
Take a pan and add oil.
When the oil is heated, add the chopped onions, green chillies and fry for a few minutes.
Once the onions turn slightly golden brown, add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 minute.
Then add the fish pieces, salt, chilli powder and turmeric.
Mix well, cover the pan and allow the fish to cook.
In the mean time, grind khus-khus, grated coconut, cinnamon and cloves by adding little water. Make a smooth paste and keep it aside.
Now check whether the fish is cooked.
When its done, add the coconut paste, 1/2 cup of coconut milk and mix very slowly. Add the cilantro and cook for another 7-10 minutes. Serve hot with rice and rasam.
