How to Make Fish Moilee

  • Grind the coconut with cumin seeds, turmeric powder and extract the milk twice.
  • Use 1 cup of hot water for the first extraction and 1.5 cups of water for the seconds extraction. Keep the two cups of coconut milk separate.
  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add the onions, ginger and green chillies and saute till fragrant.
  • Add tomatoes and saute till pulpy.
  • Add the second extraction of coconut milk and boil for 5 minutes.
  • Add salt and the fish.
  • Cook till done.
  • Add the first extraction of the coconut milk.
  • Boil for a few minutes on low heat.
  • Add the vinegar and mix well.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot with rice.
