  • 1/2 lb - fish
  • Chopped ginger-garlic (to equal 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste)
  • 1 handful - Red Chillies
  • 1 tbsp - Cumin seeds
  • Turmeric in proportion to the chilli powder
  • Vinegar
  • oil for frying
  • How to Make Fish Padaa:

    1. Cut the fish into pieces of about 1/2 inch.
    2. Deep fry the pieces.
    3. Grind all the other ingredients in vinegar.
    4. The ingredients should be ground to a paste.
    5. Heat oil (you could use the fish fry oil for better taste) in a kadai.
    6. Put the masala in and fry for about 5-7 minutes on medium heat or till it has fried properly.
    7. Remember the masala should not get burnt.
    8. Now include the fried fish in the masala and mix it well.
    9. Keep it on low heat for about 5 mins.
    10. Keep stirring occasionally and serve.
