  • 1/2 lb - fish
  • Chopped ginger-garlic (to equal 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste)
  • 1 handful - red chillies
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • turmeric in proportion to the chilli powder
  • vinegar
  • oil for frying

How to Make Fish Padaa

  • Cut the fish into pieces of about 1/2 inch.
  • Deep fry the pieces.
  • Grind all the other ingredients in vinegar.
  • The ingredients should be ground to a paste.
  • Heat oil (you could use the fish fry oil for better taste) in a kadai.
  • Put the masala in and fry for about 5-7 minutes on medium heat or till it has fried properly.
  • Remember the masala should not get burnt.
  • Now include the fried fish in the masala and mix it well.
  • Keep it on low heat for about 5 mins.
  • Keep stirring occasionally and serve.
