  • Ingredients for fish patties :
  • 1/2 lb - king fish, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 - medium-sized white Onion
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp - Lemon juice
  • a handful of Coriander leaves
  • 4-5 - Mint leaves
  • 1.5 tsp - shaan tandoori Chicken BBQ mix
  • 3 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2-inch - ginger, minced
  • 1 slice - bread, soaked in water
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil, for shallow frying
  • Ingredients for Tomato gravy:
  • 3 - big red tomatoes, diced
  • 4 - small onions/shallots
  • 2 - whole Red Chillies
  • a pinch of Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds for seasoning
  • How to Make Fish patties in a rich and creamy tomato gravy:

    1. Boil or steam the fish and remove all the bones.
    2. Add in the rest of the ingredients for fish patties and knead to a smooth paste.
    3. Take a handful of the mixture and make a ball.
    4. Very gently, flatten it into a 2-inch patty.
    5. Repeat the process for the rest of the mixture.
    6. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick skillet over low heat.
    7. Slip in the patties, a few at a time, and shallow-fry on both sides till crisp golden brown.
    8. For the gravy, heat 1 tsp oil, add 2 red chillies and saute.
    9. Add the shallots and tomato; shallow fry for a minute or so.
    10. Add salt as required.
    11. Keep aside and let cool.
    12. In a blender, add this mixture with a pinch of sugar and blend it to a thick creamy gravy.
    13. For seasoning, heat 1 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds.
    14. Once it starts spluttering, add the seasoning to the tomato gravy and mix well.
    15. Serve the fish patties with this rich and creamy tomato gravy .
