  • 1 kg - seer fish (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 4 to 5 tbsp - ginger, finely chopped
  • 4 to 5 tbsp - garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 150 ml - Vinegar
  • Salt mixed with water
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil to fry
  • How to Make Fish Pickle:

    1. Mix the chilli powder with a little vinegar and keep aside.
    2. Marinate the fish with 3 tsps turmeric powder and salt. Keep aside for an hour.
    3. In a deep bottom pan, pour enough oil and deep fry fish cubes well. Remove.
    4. In the same oil, fry the ginger, garlic and green chillies till it turns golden brown.
    5. Add the chilli-vinegar paste and mix well.
    6. Pour the salt water and stir.
    7. Add some more vinegar to give the gravy a medium consistency. Add Curry leaves.
    8. Leave the mixture to cool.
    9. Add fried fish cubes. Mix well.
    10. Bottle the pickle and leave to stand for a couple of days.
