Ingredients

  • 2 - pomfret
  • 1 - lemon
  • 20 - red chillies
  • 13 -14 - cloves
  • 4 - cinnamon
  • 10 - green cardamoms
  • 3 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 3 tsp - black peppercorns
  • 2 pieces of ginger
  • 1 pod - garlic
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 2 - large chopped onions
  • 2 tsp - sugar
  • salt to taste

How to Make Fish Reacheado

  • Soak red chillies, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, ginger and garlic in water overnight.
  • Grind to a thick paste.
  • Saute onions in 1 tsp oil on low flame till brown.
  • Add sugar and add the sauteed onions to the prepared paste.
  • The masala is now ready.
  • Clean and cut fish, then stuff it with this paste.
  • Sprinkle salt and lime juice.
  • Refrigerate for an hour.
  • Then shallow fry fish in 1 tsp oil for 7-8 minutes each side.
  • Serve with fresh onion rings and lemon.
