  • 500 g - tilapia, cut in cubes ( or any other fish)
  • 2 - medium sized, boiled potato
  • 1 tbsp - lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - white pepper powder
  • 1/2 tbsp - scrapper and minced ginger
  • 1 - medium-sized white onion, very finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - oregano
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • Oil, for shallow fry

How to Make Fish Tikkis

  • In a steamer, pour required quantity of water.
  • Add white pepper powder, lemon juice, minced garlic and 3/4 tsp salt.
  • Place the fish in the steamer basket and cook until the fish turns opaque and flakes easily.
  • When it cools, mash and keep aside.
  • Mix mashed potatoes, onion, oregano and salt.
  • Divide it into equal portions and take a portion of potato mixture, make a marble-sized ball, gently flatten it to a patty and place a portion of fish stuffing in the centre.
  • Fold the edges and gently flatten it again.
  • Shallow-fry on both sides till crisp golden brown.
  • Serve hot with ketchup.
