Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbps butter/ margarine
  • A pinch of Saffron
  • Cardamom powder to taste
  • 2 tbps crushed Pistachios
  • How to Make Flavoursome Rasmalai:

    1. Mix 1 cup milk powder with water to form a smooth paste.
    2. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves and keep on a low flame.
    3. Sieve 1 cup milk powder with 1 tsp baking powder.
    4. In a bowl, break the egg and whisk with a fork lightly.
    5. Add to the sieved flour mix.
    6. Add the butter and mix to form a soft dough. Do not knead.
    7. Shape the dough into one inch diameter balls. Do not press too hard.
    8. Slightly flatten the balls and drop into boiling milk.
    9. The balls will slowly enlarge and float to the top.
    10. Slowly add all the balls, taking care not to disturb the others.
    11. Keep on low fire untill all the balls have risen.
    12. Let it simmer for 4-5 mins. Do not stir.
    13. Add saffron and cardamom powder and garnish with crushed pistachios.
