Ingredients

  • 250 gms - Ridge gourd
  • 1 - Onion
  • 1 - Tomato
  • 3 pods- Garlic
  • 1/2 inch - Ginger
  • 1 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 2-3 - Red Chillies
  • 1 small ball - Tamarind
  • 2 tsp - Coconut
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • Curry leaves as per taste.
  • How to Make Flavoursome Ridge gourd chutney:

    1. Fry the urad dal and the red chillies and keep aside.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai, add the chopped ridge gourd, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger and tamarind.
    3. Saute well and add the coconut.
    4. Coarse grind all the above with the fried urad dal and red chillies.
    5. Season with sauteed mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
    6. Serve with idli, dosa or chapatti.
