  • 1/4 cup - Toor Dal
  • 1/4 cup - Yellow moong dal
  • 3 tbsp - Channa dal
  • 1/4 cup - Flax seeds
  • 3 Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 tsp - Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • Salt
  • How to Make Flax seed Paruppu Podi:

    1. Dry roast evenly the dals together until a nice aroma comes out, remove and set aside.
    2. Dry roast the flax seeds, dry red chillies, peppercorns, cumin seeds and keep aside until it cools completely.
    3. Grind everything together with salt to form a coarse powder. Add the remaining gingili oil and water (if needed), grind everything a bit coarse paste.
    4. Add the garlic cloves and grind it well.
    5. Conserve in an air tight box.
    6. Serve with rice topped sesame oil and potato roast.
