  • 1 cup - Foxtail millet
  • 1/2 cup - Sweet Corn kernels
  • 1no Onion (big and sliced finely)
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds+urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Channa dal
  • 3 - Dry Red Chillies
  • 1/4 tsp - Asafetida powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Pepper powder
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • How to Make Foxtail Millet and Sweet Corn Upma:

    1. Wash the foxtail millet and pressure cook with 2 cups of water till 2 whistles.
    2. Keep aside and let it cool.
    3. Heat 2 tbsps of oil, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
    4. Add urad dal, channa dal, dry red chillies and fry until brown.
    5. Add sliced onions, curry leaves, salt and saute until the onions turn translucent.
    6. Add sweet corn kernel and stir continuously for few minutes.
    7. Add the cooked millet and pepper powder, cook for few more minutes and switch off the stove.
    8. Serve hot with chutney.
