How to Make Foxtail Millet and Wheat Rava Pongal

  • Wash the foxtail millet, wheat rava and yellow moong dal together.
  • Pressure cooker them with four cups of water, ginger, asafoetida powder and salt for about 3 whistles.
  • Heat ghee or oil and fry cumin seeds, peppercorns, cashew nuts and curry leaves until brown.
  • Once the pressure is released, add the tempered spices, cashews directly to the pressure cooker and toss until everything gets well mixed.
  • Serve hot with sambar or coconut chutney.
