Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • Plain flour - 2 cups
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Warm water
  • For the filling:
  • Boiled Potatoes - 2
  • 1 cup - mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, corn)
  • Onions, chopped - 2
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Garam Masala or Pav Bhaji masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Cheddar cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • How to Make Frankie:

    1. Add all the ingredients for the dough and mix with water to make a dough.
    2. Keep the dough aside, covered, for at least one hour.
    3. Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the filling together.
    4. Shape into ovals or rounds and roll in the breadcrumbs.
    5. Deep fry and keep aside.
    6. Next, roll out the dough into small puris. Deep fry and drain.
    7. Place the fried cutlet in the centre of the fried puri. Fold it like an envelope or a cone.
    8. Heat a tava, place the cone or envelope on it and fry.
    9. Serving garnished with chopped tomatoes, onions, and fresh coriander leaves.
