Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • Plain flour - 2 cups
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Warm water
  • For the filling:
  • Boiled potatoes - 2
  • 1 cup - mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, corn)
  • Onions, chopped - 2
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Garam masala or Pav Bhaji masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Cheddar cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Frankie

  • Add all the ingredients for the dough and mix with water to make a dough.
  • Keep the dough aside, covered, for at least one hour.
  • Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the filling together.
  • Shape into ovals or rounds and roll in the breadcrumbs.
  • Deep fry and keep aside.
  • Next, roll out the dough into small puris. Deep fry and drain.
  • Place the fried cutlet in the centre of the fried puri. Fold it like an envelope or a cone.
  • Heat a tava, place the cone or envelope on it and fry.
  • Serving garnished with chopped tomatoes, onions, and fresh coriander leaves.
