Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - arvi
  • 2 tsp- thick Tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp- chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp - asafetida
  • Rice flour to coat
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Fried Colacossia (Arvi):

    1. Steam whole colocasia till they are half cooked. (Avoid over cooking). Cool and peel them.
    2. Add tamarind paste, salt, chili powder and asafetida.
    3. Add enough rice powder so that the masala sticks to the colocassia.
    4. Deep fry in moderately hot oil till brown. Serve hot.
