Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - arvi
  • 2 tsp- thick Tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp- chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp - asafetida
  • Rice flour to coat
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste

How to Make Fried Colacossia (Arvi)

  • Steam whole colocasia till they are half cooked. (Avoid over cooking). Cool and peel them.
  • Add tamarind paste, salt, chili powder and asafetida.
  • Add enough rice powder so that the masala sticks to the colocassia.
  • Deep fry in moderately hot oil till brown. Serve hot.
