Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1 cup - toor dal
  • 1 cup - dried red chillies
  • 1 cup - coriander powder
  • 1 cup - mustard seeds
  • 1 cup - urad dal
  • 1/2 - onion
  • garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - hing
  • salt and water as required

How to Make Fried Dal

  • Add 3 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker and heat on a low flame.
  • Add toor dal, dried red chillies, and coriander powder together.
  • Make the toor dal light brown .
  • Add water and allow it cook for 5-15 mins.
  • After cooling, grind it. Make a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in the pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, onion, garlic and make it transparent.
  • Add onion, dal, hing, salt and water. Allow to boil for 15 mins.
