Ingredients

  • 4 - hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 tsp - Kuzhambu milagai thool/ Sambar powder
  • 1/8 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil (or as required)

How to Make Fried masala eggs - Muttai veruval

  • Cut the hard boiled eggs in half and keep aside.
  • Mix red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt together in a mixing bowl with a little water to make a paste.
  • Coat all the eggs with the masala paste.
  • Meanwhile heat a skillet with 2 tsp of oil.
  • Place the yolk side of the egg on the skillet and fry till it changes to golden brown colour. This should take about 2 or 3 minutes on low-medium heat.
  • Turn the eggs and do the same with the other side.
  • Once done, transfer and serve with rice.
  • Method 2:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt and mix well.
  • Sprinkle a little water to make it a paste.
  • Cook it on low heat.
  • After a few seconds, add whole eggs to the masala before masala burns.
  • Once masala is coated on the eggs and cooked well, remove from heat and serve.
