Ingredients

  • 4 - hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 tsp - Kuzhambu milagai thool/ Sambar powder
  • 1/8 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil (or as required)
  • How to Make Fried masala eggs - Muttai veruval:

    1. Cut the hard boiled eggs in half and keep aside.
    2. Mix red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt together in a mixing bowl with a little water to make a paste.
    3. Coat all the eggs with the masala paste.
    4. Meanwhile heat a skillet with 2 tsp of oil.
    5. Place the yolk side of the egg on the skillet and fry till it changes to golden brown colour. This should take about 2 or 3 minutes on low-medium heat.
    6. Turn the eggs and do the same with the other side.
    7. Once done, transfer and serve with rice.
    8. Method 2:
    9. Heat oil in a pan, add chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt and mix well.
    10. Sprinkle a little water to make it a paste.
    11. Cook it on low heat.
    12. After a few seconds, add whole eggs to the masala before masala burns.
    13. Once masala is coated on the eggs and cooked well, remove from heat and serve.
