Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - meat, minced
  • 2 tbsp - garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp - salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp - ajinomoto
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tsp - roasted sesame powder
  • 1.5 tbsp - Corn flour
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • For the sweet and sour sauce:
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 2.5 tbsp - Sugar
  • 2 tbsp - Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1/4 tsp - salt to taste
  • 1.5 tbsp - Tomato ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp - Corn flour
  • 3 tbsp - spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp - ginger, minced
  • 1/8 cup - water
  • How to Make Fried Meat Balls in Sweet and Sour Sauce:

    1. Heat 2 tbsp oil, add all the sauce ingredients and boil till thick. Remove and keep aside.
    2. Combine the minced meat and all other ingredients together and mix well with the hand till soft.
    3. Make walnut size balls out of this mixture.
    4. Heat the oil, deep fry the meat balls, turning frequently for even colour. When light brown, remove from oil and drain.
    5. Before serving, reheat the oil until very hot and fry the meat balls once again until golden brown. Drain on paper and serve with the sweet and sour sauce.
