  • 1 pound - shrimps
  • 2 - onions (large)
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1.5 tsp - lemon Juice or 2 pieces of "Kokam" or 1 g of tamarind (soaked and crushed in some water)
  • 1 - garlic clove (finely chopped)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Fried Shrimps

  • Clean the shrimps by removing the shells and de-veining them.
  • Add all the spices, ginger paste, garlic paste and lemon juice/kokam/tamarind paste.
  • Marinade the mixture for 1-2 hours.
  • Finely chop the onions and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and season with the garlic clove.
  • Add the chopped onions and stir-fry until golden brown.
  • Add the shrimps and some salt, and stir fry them nicely.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook the shrimps on low flame for some time.
  • Stir-fry the mixture once again until the shrimps are well-cooked and the water begins to evaporate.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
