Ingredients

  • 4 cups - grated Carrots
  • 1 tin - sweetened condensed Milk
  • 1 cup - raisins, chopped cashewnuts, almonds, Pistachios
  • 1-2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tbsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp - rose water
  • 2 tbsp - chopped nuts for garnishing
  • 1 sheet - of Vark (thin edible silver sheets) as decoration.
  • How to Make Gaajar ka Halwa:

    1. In a non-stick sauce-pan, fry the nuts in butter for few seconds and keep aside.
    2. In the same pan, heat ghee and fry the carrot, raisins and cardamom for 5 mins, stirring occasionally to cook evenly.
    3. Add the sweetened condensed milk simmer for 5 mins and mix the rose water and fried nuts in it.
    4. Stir well and garnish with the vark sheet and chopped nuts.
