Ingredients

  • Onion - 1, large chopped
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Potato - 1 medium, cut into cubes
  • Garlic - 1 clove, chopped
  • Tomatoes - 4 large, chopped
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Water - 4 cups
  • Cream - 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Garam Tomato Soup

  • Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add bay leaf, onion and potato.
  • Stir and fry without browning for about 3 mins.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except cream.
  • Close the sauce pan and cook nicely.
  • Remove from heat and cool it.
  • Open the sauce pan and discard bay leaf.
  • Mix the soup smooth in a blender or mash it through a sieve.
  • Return soup to sauce pan and reheat.
  • Serve hot and garnish each individual serving with a tbsp of cream.
