  • 2 cups - Cooked rice
  • 2 cups - Spinach (chopped)
  • 10 - Garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1 - Onion (big and chopped)
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Pav bhaji masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seed powder
  • 1/2 cup - Grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad dal
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Garlic and Spinach Rice

  • Heat oil. Let it splutter.
  • Add the mustard seeds and urad dal. Immediately add the chopped garlic. Fry for few seconds.
  • Now add the chopped onions and slit green chillies. Saute until the onions turns translucent.
  • Add the pav bhaji masala, garam masala powder and cumin seed powder along with salt to the onions. Cook for few seconds.
  • Add the chopped spinach to the spiced onions. Cook for few minutes until the greens shrinks a bit.
  • Add the cooked rice, grated coconut and toss everything gently until the rice gets well mixed.
  • Serve with fryums or any sort of spicy side dishes.
