  • 1 tin mixed fruit (fruit cocktail, large)
  • 2 cup - milk
  • 1 cup - fresh cream
  • 250 g - vanilla sponge cake
  • 2 tbsp - vanilla custard powder
  • 2 tbsp - sugar
  • 3 tbsp - cashew nuts, roasted
  • 2 tbsp - icing sugar
  • walnuts and cherries to decorate

How to Make Gateau Fruit Cream

  • Take 1/2 cup of milk and mix custard powder in it. Boil remaining milk.
  • Add sugar and custard powder mixture. Cook and stir till the custard is thick.
  • Let the custard cool. Stir it often during this time to avoid skin forming on top.
  • Cover with cling-film and keep in refrigerator.
  • Cut the cake into thin slices.
