How to Make

  • For the ghee rice, splutter mustard in oil.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients and saute for some time.
  • Then add enough water and cook till done.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in pressure cooker.
  • Add red chillies, onion and fry.
  • Add cubed potato.
  • Mix cumin, coriander, curry leaves, and turmeric powder in 1/2 cup water.
  • Add salt and sugar. Stir.
  • Add daal and pressure cook.
  • Meanwhile, dry roast cloves, cardamom and cinnamon powder.
  • Add to the cooked daal.
  • Let the daal thicken on medium flame.
  • Serve hot with rice.
