Ingredients

  • 2 cups - plain flour
  • 1 cup - castor Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tsp - ground Ginger
  • 125 g - Butter
  • 1 small Egg
  • 1 tsp - golden syrup
  • How to Make Ginger nut biscuits:

    1. Sift into basin the flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, salt and ginger.
    2. Rub in butter until the mixture is fine and crumbly.
    3. Beat egg with golden syrup, add to dry ingredients.
    4. Work into a firm dough with hands.
    5. Take teaspoonfuls of mixture, roll into small balls and place on lightly greased oven trays about 5 cm (2 inch) apart.
    6. Bake in moderately low oven for about 15 mins.
    7. Loosen biscuits and cool on trays.
