Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1 cup - Suji
  • 1 cup - Butter
  • 1 cup - Maida
  • 1 cup - desiccated Coconut
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cinnamon powder
  • How to Make Goan Batk or Semolina Cake:

    1. Grind all the ingredients to a smooth and thick batter.
    2. Add a little milk if required and let it stand for 15 mins.
    3. Pour the batter into an 9 inch x 9 inch x 3 inch greased and floured cake tin.
    4. Tap the tin gently a few times on a flat surface to remove air bubbles.
    5. Bake in a moderate oven, (350 F) till done.
    6. Cool and cut into diamond shape pieces.
