Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Bengal Gram (Chana) Dal
  • 1 cup - shrimps, cleaned and chopped
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1/2 cup - onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - green chilli, minced
  • 2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp - fennel (Saunf), crushed
  • salt to taste
  • oil to fry

How to Make Golden Shrimp Vada

  • Soak the Dal with red chillies in water for 2 hours.
  • Drain and grind to stiff, coarse paste.
  • Add rest of the ingredients except the oil.
  • Take 4 round lumps and flatten to 1/2 cm thick discs.
  • Deep fry in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
