6 cups - gongura (Sorrel), chopped
1/2 kg - potato
2 cups - Palak, chopped
15 green chillies or to taste
2 onions, sliced
2 pieces cinnamon
1 tsp - chilli powder
1 tsp - Dhania powder
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tbsp - ginger garlic paste
salt to taste
2 tbsp - oil
For Seasoning: 2 tbsp - oil
1 tsp - mustard
1 tsp - black gram Dal
1 red chilli, broken in 2 pieces
How to Make Gongura Potato
Peel and cut potato into 4 cm cubes
Heat 2 tbsp of oil. Add cloves and cinnamon.
Add onions and 2 slit green chillies. Fry till brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till fragrant.
Add potatoes, chilli powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder and salt.
Add 1 - 1 and a half cup of water and cook till potatoes are soft.
Mean while cook chopped greens with remaining green chillies and salt. Cool and grind to a paste.
Heat oil for seasoning.
Add mustard, black gram Dal and broken red chillies.
Add the green paste and fry well.
When the potato is cooked, add the green paste.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve hot with steamed rice or Chapathi .
