Ingredients

  • Goat meat -1 Kg
  • 5-6 Onions
  • 5 tbsp- finely chopped ginger and garlic
  • Khara garam masala (Cloves, Cinnamon, Elaichi, Cumin seeds)
  • Refined oil - 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 cup - Yogurt
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice -2 tbsp
  • Pepper (ground)- as per taste
  • Coriander powder- 4 tbsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves -1/2 cup, finely chopped

How to Make Gosht Masala

  • Heat oil and fry lightly the meat pieces with salt and pepper.
  • Fry khara garam masala in hot oil and add ginger, garlic and onions. Fry till golden brown and crisp.
  • Make a smooth paste of this mixture and add in the pressure cooker with just a little bit of oil on low heat.
  • Add the fried meat pieces to this mixture and stir. Add red chilli powder, salt to taste, pepper, chopped tomatoes, coriander powder and the coriander leaves. Add yogurt. Stir on medium heat.
  • Add the lemon juice and butter.
  • Put the lid on and pressure cook for about 30-35 minutes on medium. Don't open the lid immediately; wait for the pressure to reduce.
  • Serve hot garnished with more coriander leaves and one tbsp of fresh cream (optional) with rice.
