  • Whole green gram -1 cup
  • Coconut - 1/2
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Jeera-1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1tsp
  • Hing (Asafoetida) - a pinch
  • Red chilli - 1
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Green Gram Dal

  • Boil green gram dal in the pressure cooker.
  • Grind coconut, green chillies, jeera and a few curry leaves
  • Take a kadai, add mustard seeds, red chilli, hing and curry leaves
  • Add cooked dal, ground paste and salt.
  • Let it simmer for two minutes.
  • Serve with rice or chapattis.
