  • 5 - green gram Idli
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - channa dal
  • 1/2 tsp - urad dal
  • A few sprigs - curry leaves
  • 1 - onion (big and chopped)
  • 2 - green chillies (slit opened)
  • 1/2 tsp - grated ginger
  • A pinch of asafetida
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required

How to Make Green gram Idli Upma

  • Grind the leftover idlis until it turns into a coarse powder.
  • Heat enough oil, add mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida powder and fry.
  • Add onions, green chillies and curry leaves and saute until the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the ground idlis, turmeric powder and salt and cook on sim for a few minutes.
