Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Toor Dal
  • 2.5 cup - water
  • 1/2 cup - green mango, chopped
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 6 - dry Red Chillies
  • 10 to 12 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper Corns
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • How to Make Green Mango Dal Kadi:

    1. Pressure cook dal with water and turmeric till soft and mash.
    2. Heat oil in a small frying pan and fry grated coconut, turmeric powder, red chillies, garlic, pepper and cumin.
    3. Cool and grind to a paste, add green mango and salt to the dal, simmer for 5 mins.
    4. Add the ground paste and simmer for two more minutes.
    5. Serve.
