  • 500 g - sweet or petite peas
  • 3 cups - plain flour (maida or wheat)
  • 1 - bread slice for bread crumbs
  • 1 - Ginger piece for paste
  • 1- 2 - Garlic pieces for paste
  • 1 tsp - til
  • 4-5 - Green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 2 tsp - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • chopped Coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • water to knead the flour
  • How to Make Green Sweet Peas Patties:

    1. Boil the peas for some time so that they become a little soft.
    2. Blend the peas in a mixie to make a paste (but not very smooth).
    3. Heat a tbsp of oil in a deep pan and roast the pea paste until it mixes well with the oil.
    4. Add green chillies, ginger paste, garlic paste, til, coriander powder, chopped coriander leaves, sugar, lemon juice, garam masala and salt.
    5. Mix the ingredients well.
    6. Mix the bread crumbs and keep the pea mixture filling aside.
    7. For the dough: Add salt to the flour and a tsp of oil.
    8. Knead the flour with water until it becomes a pliable dough (not very soft).
    9. Take a handful of the dough and roll it to a medium-sized poori.
    10. Put a spoonful of the pea mixture, filling in the centre of the poori.
    11. To cover the filling, bring the edges of the poori towards the centre and close.
    12. Flatten the poori by putting a little pressure.
    13. Repeat the procedure to make more pooris.
    14. Heat oil in a kadai.
    15. Fry the pea patties to golden brown and a bit crisp.
    16. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
