Ingredients

  • 2 - green tomatoes
  • 2 - red tomatoes
  • 1 tsp - tamarind
  • 1 bunch - mint
  • 1 tbsp - urad dal
  • 4 to 5 - green chillies
  • 3 to 4 small pieces - fresh coconut
  • 1 flake - garlic
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Green Tomato Chutney

  • Roast urad dal till light brown. Keep aside after roasting.
  • Roast garlic, coconut and keep it aside.
  • Take mint and fry it in a pan (use only the mint leaves).
  • Wash the tomatoes and remove the seeds.
  • Grind tomatoes, garlic, coconut, tamarind, mint, urad dal, chillies, salt together without water.
  • This forms a semi-solid paste which can be enjoyed with dosa, rotis, chapatti and vegetables.
