How to Make Gujarati Muthia

  • Mix all ingredients and make a chapatti-style dough using water. From the dough, make round 6 inch long dough sticks.
  • In a cooker, add water and warm up on stove.
  • Put dough sticks in round containers that can fit in cooker. You may need 3 to 4 such containers.
  • Put these containers in a cooker above 1/2 inch steel ring so that the water doesn't get into them.
  • Cover the cooker with lid and wait for 2 cooker whistles.
  • Once cool, get muthia sticks out and cut in 1/2 inch thick round pieces.
  • You can warm up 1/2 a cup of oil, add 3 tsp mustard seeds, 3 tsp sesame seeds and pour tempered mixture over the cut muthias.
  • Serve with tea, milk or mango pickles.
