Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - Chicken (cut into medium sized pieces)
  • 3 - Green chillies (slit open)
  • 6 - Garlic (chopped)
  • 2 - Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger garlic paste
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Few coriander leaves (chopped)
  • To grind:
  • 1 tbsp - Poppy seeds
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander seeds
  • 1 inch - Cinnamon stick
  • 3 - Cloves
  • Cardamom seeds
  • 3 tbsp - Grated coconut

How to Make Guntur Kodi Kura - Guntur Chicken Curry

  • Dry roast all the ingredients given under the list ' to grind'.
  • Grind them into a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Meanwhile cook (simmer) the chicken pieces with enough salt, chilli powder, chopped garlic, green chillies in a pan, until the water from the chicken evaporates; keep aside.
  • Heat enough oil, add the curry leaves, fennel seeds and fry for few seconds.
  • Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute until the onions turn translucent.
  • Now add the ground paste, sprinkle some water and cook for few seconds.
  • Add the cooked chicken pieces to the cooking masala.
  • Cook everything in medium high flame until the chicken pieces get well coated with the masala.
  • Finally add the coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
  • Serve with rice.
