Ingredients

  • 1 - potato, boiled and smashed
  • 1/4 cup - green moong, soaked and boiled
  • 1/4 - Onion
  • 1.5 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tsp - Jeera powder
  • salt to taste
  • For the Dough:
  • 1.5 cup - Maida
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Jeera
  • oil as required
  • cold water to knead
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Healthy Kachoris:

    1. Heat oil in a kadai and saute onions. Add the smashed potato and green moong. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt.
    2. Take lemon sized balls of the dough.
    3. Stuff with a tsp of the filling.
    4. Flatten the ball a bit and deep fry.
    5. Serve hot with green chutney and tamarind chutney.
