  • Hilsa fish - 1 kg
  • 25 g - mustard paste (mustard ground with 1 tbsp of curd and 7 green chillies).
  • Banana leaves - cut into rectangular shape to cover each fish piece.
  • 1 tbsp - salt.
  • 2 - tbsp mustard oil.
  • Thread to tie the banana leaves.

How to Make Hilsa Fish Bake in Mustard Sauce

  • Wash fish and keep it aside for 1/2 an hour after rubbing with salt and turmeric.
  • Now marinate for 1 hour, with mustard paste adding 2 tbsp mustard oil along with it
  • Take one rectangular piece of banana leaf and cover one marinated fish piece, repeat.
  • Tie each cover with a thread
  • Now preheat the oven for 150 degree celsius for 10 mins.
  • Take a baking tray, grease it with 1 tsp mustard oil and keep the tied fish pieces evenly on the tray and bake it for 35 to 40 Minutes.
  • Remove the thread and serve.
