Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole Meat self-rising flour
  • 1 cup - self-rising flour
  • 1 cup - Dates
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - skimmed Milk
  • 120 g - polyunsaturated margarine
  • 1 - Egg
  • 4 tbsp - Honey
  • How to Make Honey and Date Cake:

    1. Melt margarine using double boiling method.
    2. Add chopped dates, lightly beaten eggs, honey and milk.
    3. Sift flours and return husks to the bowl.
    4. Add sugar and chopped dates. Mix well.
    5. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin.
    6. Bake in a moderately slow oven at 180 degree C for about 1/2 an hour.
    7. Allow to cool 8 minutes before turning out onto wire rack.
